I am so NOT a blogger!

I added a bunch of art to my traditional media spot.

I have left the computer behind and spent the last year either painting or getting my joints replaced.

Please check out my work, comment, critique, or simply say hello!

thanks for stopping by.

Great awesomely sacary wonderful stuff going on..

Well, I’m busy prepping for my first solo show at Studio 2091 Gallery.

I’ll try to update this blog to reflect progress and also any updates.

The show will be comprised of “portraits” of people I met while hopping trains and hitchhiking in my teens and 20’s.

I obviously don’t have photos of these people, but I’m going to draw them as they appear in my weird deformed cartoon addled brain.

Here are the most recent preliminary sketches; I’ll be painting them in acrylics and adding other found art to them towards the end of the process.

FAIL!!!….but a fun experiment

I’m not trying to bore you guys with my posts, but rather maybe give you a bit of insight into how I work…so I’m trying to also let you in on my trial and error when trying to get things to come together. Maybe it will interest you… Maybe not.
Today is this:
I think part of the frustration I run into at times stems from my desire to paint on “non-traditional surfaces”.
After some trial and error, and reaching out to another artist I have decided that the style I want to work in, and the look I want to achieve, is not going to happen with the support (the name for the surface you are using) that I have.
Time to hop in the shower and go to Home Depot and get some real GOOD hardwood.
Pine is a definite no…
I tried to reclaim it, and I know it’s possible, but not with the pieces I’m doing right at the moment….
Well, that and the other two boards have ant colonies in them now….
Off to the store , damnit.
Oops watch your ears

Zombie Tattoo

Here is my latest work
Drawn in pencil, colored in Photoshop

This artwork is a bit of a nod to the rockabilly culture, Sailor Jerry, and of course zombies…for which the artist holds a special place in her heart.

Ooops..it’s been a while, huh?

I have been busy trying to get a few original works done for some t-shirt prints

An excellent opportunity that will hopefully garner some attention for the rest of my work.

I am setting up a store so i can sell prints and other merch and should have a link live very soon

in the meantime here are my latest offerings

The torso is a life sized casting which was then painted with acrylics and embellished

All of the rest started out as pencil, were inked, and then taken in to Photoshop for paint

So it’s 2013 and I’m finally forced to have some sort of “Web presence”

So, due to a recent and very wonderful development, I am forced to establish a presence on the web with which to promote my art. This wouldn’t be such a horrible thing if I didn’t find it almost physically painful to prop myself up. Like many people I know, I’m quite happy to create and stay in the background.

I’m not a performer, in fact, I’m not even an extra.

I think it will take a while to get used to, and it will take some outside push to keep my page up to date. The worst part is, I have to put my artwork up. This doesn’t seem like it would be that horrible, but since I lost my big machine, I also lost access to a lot of high res images and original files. This makes showcasing anything quite difficult as I want to show things in the best possible light.

I will attempt to keep my readers up to date on works I’m creating, highlight past work, and hopefully once a week maybe even have a simple DIY art/craft lesson so that you can interact and get involved as well.

I cant promise any fabulous prizes, but I’d like to at least offer a glimpse into my own processes and quirks.

Right now most of the art on here is my more “tame” stuff, but as I add images you will hopefully get a more fleshed out idea of what makes me tick and what you can expect.

Of course, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition
